Child Safety Standards

Effective date: September 9, 2026 · Last updated: September 9, 2026

CivicBulletin has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind. This page describes what CivicBulletin actually is, the safety measures already built into the app, and how to report a concern.

What CivicBulletin is — and isn't

CivicBulletin is a hyperlocal map: neighbours post short, public reports (hazards, closures, events, deals, playground conditions, local buzz) that anyone nearby can see and comment on. It has no private messaging, no direct messaging between users, no friend requests, and no way for one user to privately contact another through the app. Every post and comment is public, timestamped, and attached to whichever account created it — there is no anonymous posting.

Age requirement

CivicBulletin is not directed at children and is not designed to be used by children. Per our Terms of Service, users must be at least 13 years old (or the relevant minimum age in their jurisdiction) to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from children — see our Privacy Policy for details.

Built-in safety measures

Our commitment

If we become aware of content or behaviour on CivicBulletin that constitutes or facilitates CSAE, we will remove it immediately, permanently remove the account responsible, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or other applicable law enforcement authorities as required by law.

How to report a concern

To report a specific post or user, use the Report option on that post's detail screen in the app — this reaches our moderation queue directly.

For anything else, including a suspected child safety concern that needs urgent attention, email info.localpulse@gmail.com. We review every report personally.
